Moreover, game development companies have lately been confirming their participation on the latest projects surrounding popular franchises. In fact, just recently, Respawn Entertainment, the video game studio responsible for "Call of Duty" and "Titanfall," announced that they have been tapped by Electronic Arts to develop a game for a very prestigious series.
Yesterday on Respawn Entertainment's official website, Respawn game director Stig Asmussen announced that the company would be involved in working on the upcoming "Star Wars" videogame. According to Asmussen, the game would be a third-person action/adventure game set in the Star Wars universe. He further assured fans of the franchise that being a fan himself, he and the rest of the Respawn Entertainment team would be staying true to the essence of "Star Wars."
"What a rarity, for a book, a film, or even a game to have that kind of impact, spanning several generations, even promising to continue into future ones. The opportunity to be a part of that is not something to take for granted. This is an opportunity that I, the team, and Respawn could not and would not pass up. This is the chance of a lifetime," exclaimed a part of Asmussen's statement.
The upcoming "Star Wars" game is initiated by EA as part of their deal with Disney to produce games based on the franchise's universe.
The announcement, which was formally rolled out on May 4, could not have come at a better time. Fans all over the globe were celebrating the iconic May the Fourth in reference to May the Force be With You.
The soon-to-be released Star Wars game is without a doubt an exciting endeavor for Respawn Entertainment. Nevertheless, the project is not the only win the video game development company achieved lately.
Early in April, Respawn Entertainment formally confirmed the development of the sequel to one of their most popular games - "Titanfall." On their official Facebook page, Respawn premiered the first trailer for "Titanfall 2."
