The Moto G Play is equipped with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal memory, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.

Motorola, which is owned by Chinese smartphone maker Lenovo, would soon launch another budget smartphone - the Moto E3 - in India. Priced at around $106, the Moto E3 would be released on September 19. Motorola is also planning to introduce the Moto E3 Power to India in the coming months.

The Lenovo-owned tech giant aims to secure a larger share of booming Indian smartphone market.

"The onus in India right now is to grow market share, and we will continue to ramp up production as needed," Motorola's President Aymar de Lencquesaing said in a recent interview. "My number one concern in India is that we continue to grow share. This is a $400 plus billion market in value, and our business is somewhere under $10 billion, so it leaves us ample opportunity to grow."
