Several smartphone makers including Sony, Samsung and LG have revealed which of their smartphones would receive the Android Nougat update.
It has been almost two months since the Android 7.0 Nougat was officially released. And only the eligible devices that have received updates from Google directly have been upgraded to the new OS. The vast majority of smartphone developers are still lagging behind.

There is good news however, as several companies have confirmed their primary list of devices that are eligible for the update. These smartphones would be the first ones to receive the Android Nougat update when the companies start rolling it out. The devices that will be receiving the update are listed below under their respective manufacturer's name.
Nexus
Nexus devices come first in the pecking order of the devices that are set to get the new OS update. The devices that will receive the update are:
- Nexus 6P
- Nexus 5X
- Nexus 9
- Nexus 6
- Android One
- Nexus Player
- Pixel C
Motorola
Motorola has built a reputation of rolling out updates to its devices in the shortest possible time. Moto devices that will receive the update are:
- Moto Z
- Moto Z Droid
- Moto Z Force Droid
- Moto Z Play
- Moto Z Play Droid
- Droid Maxx 2
- Droid Turbo 2
- Moto X Style
- Moto X Play
- Moto X Force
- Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen)
- Moto G (4th Gen)
- Moto G Plus (4th Gen)
- Moto G Play (4th Gen)
OnePlus
Although OnePlus has not provided a specific deadline for the delivery of the new update, the company said that it is "actively" working towards making the update available as quickly available as possible. Only the following two OnePlus devices will get the update.
- OnePlus 3
- OnePlus 2
Samsung
In spite of the latest Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, Samsung is aiming to provide a timely update of the Andoid Nougat OS its users. The devices that will be receiving the updates are:
- Galaxy S7
- Galaxy S7 edge
- Galaxy Note 5
- Galaxy S6
- Galaxy S6 edge
- Galaxy S6 edge+
LG
This year it was not a Nexus but instead the LG V20 that became the first device to sport Android 7.0 out of the box. Other LG phones that would receive Nougat include:
- LG V20
- LG V10
- LG G5
- LG G3
HTC
The Korean company will be launching the HTC Bolt in the coming days. It will become the first HTC smartphone with the Android Nougat 7.0 operating system out of the box. Other HTC phones that will receive the update are:
- HTC 10
- HTC One M10
- HTC One M9
- HTC One A9
Sony
Sony has nine of its devices that will receive the Nougat update. The list includes:
- Xperia X Performance
- Xperia XZ
- Xperia X
- Xperia X Compact
- Xperia Z5
- Xperia Z3+
- Xperia Z4 Tablet
- Xperia XA
- Xperia Ultra
