EA Access was offered exclusively to Xbox One users. This time, Microsoft and Electronic Arts seem to be pushing the service to fans with a timely promotion.

For the entire week of Jan. 19 to 24, Xbox Live Gold members will get a chance to sample the EA Access for free. This means getting access to the Vault, which features a ton of free games. Among the games available for play include "Dragon Age: Inquisition," Need for Speed Rivals," "Peggle 2," "NHL 15," "EA Sports UFC," "Titanfall," "FIFA 15" and "Battlefield Hardline," to name a few.

To access this, all that Xbox Live Gold members have to do is to download the EA Access Hub App seen in the home dashboard, Xbox Wire reported. The promotion is timely, as there is a new game from developer EA.

The upcoming "Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2" is already on beta. EA Access is the best way to play the game during the EA Access Free Play Days. This feature basically allows EA Access members to not only get a 10 percent discount on the game, but they can also sample it before the game becomes available on the shelves. Another plus is that any progress made during the free time play can be carried over to the purchased title.

Once the promotion is over, Xbox Live Gold Members can opt to become an EA Access member for only $4.99 for a one-month subscription or $29.99 for an entire year's worth of access.

It appears that one of the most requested features will have to wait until after summer. Xbox head Phil Spencer had responded to fan inquiries on when the background music playback will be made available for the Xbox One.

The only thing that Spencer could divulge was that it will not be available before summer, VG 24/7 reported. The team seems to be back in the drawing boards to work on other features that can be delivered on the Xbox One, after the company had released the New Xbox One Experience in November 2015. Microsoft has yet to announce when the next Xbox One update will come, as well as which features will be included in the update.

Fans need not worry because as far as the most wanted features for the Xbox One go, background music playback on the Xbox One is among those at the top. This is not a surprise, considering how the feature already exists on the Xbox 360 and is a much enjoyed feature.
