The Huawei Mate 9 smartphone has been released in the U.S. for $600.
The Huawei Mate 9 was officially launched in November 2016 along with the Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Design smartphone. It was also unveiled in the China and is currently on sale. Its availability in the U.S. market was announced at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017.
The Huawei Mate 9 features Amazon's voice assistant Alexa. It is also the first Huawei smartphone to run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box with the customized EMUI 5.0.
The Huawei Mate 9 has a 5.9-inch full high-definition display with a resolution of 920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 373 ppi. It also comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in memory that can be further extended up to a maximum of 256GB.
The Huawei Mate 9 is powered by an octa-core Huawei Kirin 960 chipset clocked at a speed of 2.4 GHz and coupled with Mali G71 MP8 graphics processing unit on board. It is packed with a 4000 mAh non-removable battery with SuperCharge fast charging technology.
The Huawei Mate 9 features Leica certified dual lens cameras at the back with 20-megapixel and 12-megapixel sensors. It also includes an aperture of f/2.2, optical image stabilization, phase detection autofocus, CAF, and laser autofocus. It also comes with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with autofocus and an aperture of f/1.9.
The Huawei Mate 9 measures 156.9 x 78.9 x 7.9 mm in dimension with a weight of 190 grams. It is also equipped with a circular fingerprint scanner and infrared blaster for controlling consumer electronics such as a TV and AC. Other connectivity options are Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, 4G, VoLTE, NFC, and USB Type-C port.
