The upcoming RPG "Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire" crowdfunded campaign has passed another funding milestone. The game's crowdfunding campaign on Fig has literally ended which earned a grand total of $4,407,598 with 33,614 backers. This makes the game ending up over 400% funded.
It's the most successful fan-funded game on any site since 2015, according to the game's developer Obsidian Entertainment. However, it appears to be not because since 2015, "Star Citizen" has received a lot more in its ongoing funding. As per GameSpot, the game's campaign crossed $100 million in December 2015 and up until now, it is still gaining and it's at more than $143 million.
It is considered as the most-funded game in Fig's history as well, even though the site only launched in 2015. Fig allows people to attain equity, which allows them to share in a game's success, not like those of other funding platforms such as Indiegogo and Kickstarter.
The game's crowdfunded campaign in Fig has officially concluded, "Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire" has accumulated a grand total of $4,407,598 with 33,614 backers. $2.25 million has come from "Fig Game Shares" and the other $2.15 million from traditional pledges. As it hit the $4.25 million mark, they will be adding a soulbound weapon.
GameZone details that the only thing "Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire" has not achieved is its recently revealed stretch goal which is set for the $4.75 million mark. Obsidian announced if it hits $4.75 million, they will be adding Sea Monsters and fishing into the game.
It just took less than 23 hours for the game to clear its $1.1 million goal. Eventually, it crossed $3 million earlier this week. The game's structure and gameplay is based on the previous game and is expected to offer "truly living cities and more freedom to explore the open world." The "Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire" is slated to be released sometime during Q1 2018.
