Square Enix's action RPG "Nier: Automata" has received its 1.02 day one patch. The upcoming title is set to be released in March 2017 in the west. More so, some fans have already been granted access to the game's Japanese version.
Only a few things which can be performed in the game's unpatched version. However, screenshots can be taken, recordings are prohibited given that "Nier: Automata" is not yet available around the world until March. Players might encounter issues if the said update is not fully installed, so it is advised to wait.
The "Nier: Automata" update 1.01 is reportedly required to progress further in the game. Players will allegedly face ultimate death if they venture long enough. The 1.01 update is the day one patch for players especially those who secured the game's copy before February 23.
Since the update isn't still fully mounted, the Saving Feature of the pre-patched version may be very limited. It is worth noting that this patch is very essential. Without it, players cannot progress further. The patch notes for 1.01 features some changes on game balance, bug fixes, and extra support for add-on content.
"Nier: Automata's" update 1.02 is at roughly 3GB of size. Its patch notes merely reads "fixed various bugs." It seems to be a big one. Hence, it is possible that it contains more than just bug fixes.
Additionally, there is a certain junk item, previously named NIN64, which took up inventory space and did undeniably nothing. A lot of people were not amused by this item. Not only because it was referred to as Nintendo's N64 console, but also it was referred to as "junk." Square Enix decided to remove all references that could be interpreted as being towards Nintendo- NIN64 which is now referred to by the more descriptive, 'Broken Firearm' through the 1.02 patch.
While Western countries are slated to receive a March 7 release, "Nier: Automata" is out now in Japan and Asia. Everyone can eventually play the Japanese version of the game since it features English dub and subtitles. The game is slated to arrive first on PS4 before finally making its way to PC.
