The Galaxy S8 and S8+ are confirmed to launch on March 29. However, their alleged specifications and release date have been by revealed by well-known analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo.
The analyst who belongs to KGI Securities is famous for revealing accurate information on Apple devices before they are officially unveiled. Kuo has now revealed extensive information on the upcoming Galaxy S8 flagships, Playful Droid reported.
As other rumors have revealed Kuo too has confirmed that the Galaxy S8 would be coming with a 5.8-inch display. Its larger edition is pegged to house a 6.2-inch display. Both smartphones are expected to support WQHD+ resolution of 2,960 x 2,400 pixels. Kuo stated that both phones will not feature flat display panels, instead they will be coming with dual-edge curved screens.
The Snapdragon SoC chipset edition of the S8 and S8+ would be made available in markets like the U.S., Japan and China. For other regions such as Europe and Asia, Samsung will be releasing Exynos variant. Both the chipsets will be supported by 4 GB of RAM. In certain regions like South Korean and China, Samsung is pegged to release 6 GB RAM variants for both smartphones.
The Galaxy S8 and S8+ will continue to feature 12-megapixel rear shooters like predecessor phones. Both phones will be equipped with front-facing cameras of 8-megapixel. It is because of the "immature dual-camera ISP design" Samsung could not incorporate dual camera module on Galaxy S8, 9 to 5 Google reported.
The Galaxy S8 and S8+ will be the first S-series smartphones from the company to feature a USB Type-C port. Since both will feature it, they are expected to come with support for PC mode by placing the smartphone in a dock. The Galaxy S8 phones are expected to be available in color choices such as gold, silver, bright black, matte black, blue, orchid, and pink.
Even though some rumors started Galaxy S8 release date as April 28, Samsung is more likely to release them on April 21. Since the Galaxy Note 7 was discontinued, Samsung had released one flagship phone- the Galaxy S7 in the previous year. As a result, it shipped 52 million units of S7 in 2016. According to Kuo, in this year, Samsung is expected to ship 40 to 45 million units of Galaxy S8, 9to5 Google reported.
