Facebook Messenger has already improved that added several features for users to enjoy. However, some people switches to another app like the Messenger Lite, and consider it as an alternative because it is easier to use. Here are some of the comparison between Facebook Messenger and Messenger Lite.

Which is better when it comes to RAM usage, features, and storage?

Storage space

The Facebook Messenger occupies 177 MB out of 153 MB of the app itself and additional 25 MB for additional information.

The Messenger Lite, on the other hand, takes only about 17 MB out of 15 MB of the app itself and extra 1.5 MB for some data. The cache also take a minimum space from 15 MB in the standard version into 1 MB in Lite.

RAM usage

Messenger Lite operates normally in the background and shows the real time notifications even without the chat bubbles. It consumes 93 MB when open, 59.64 MB when running in the background, and 8.76 MB when closed. While with the standard Messenger consumes about 204 MB when running. When it runs in the background it uses 150.74 MB, and 58.04 MB when already closed.

Features

The main difference between the two is that; Lite version does not support VoIP or video calling and Groups tabs, although the groups can be seen with individual chats.

Meanwhile, Facebook Messenger has a lot of features including HD video calls, Facebook story, and more stickers to search and explore categories like Happy and In Love.

The two are useful app in a different way. If people want to save storage and RAM Usage, Messenger Lite is recommended. But for those who want more advanced features of the app, Facebook Messenger is better.
