OnePlus 5, Samsung Galaxy S8, and Apple iPhone 8 are among the major flagship devices that are highly anticipated for released this year.
OnePlus 5 is dubbed by many as the flagship killer. OnePlus gained popularity after it offered the OnePlus 3 in the smartphone market. The device fared well and was among the top-rated smartphones in the previous year because it is sold at a very reasonable price, way lower than Samsung and Apple.
On the flip side, Samsung Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8 have also had their fair share of speculations and leaks since last year.
Powered by a chip called the A11 or the A11 Fusion, the iPhone 8 will come with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in a report that the iPhone 8 would come with a "revolutionary" front-facing camera with an infrared module which is capable of sensing 3D space. The iPhone 8 will run on the iOS 11. Other leaks suggest that it will feature edge-to-edge display, glass body, no home button, and wireless charging support.
The next generation OnePlus flagship is expected to come with some killer specs. It will reportedly come with a dual-edge screen which is expected to be a highlight of the handset, aside from a 16-megapixel selfie camera and a 23-megapixel rear camera. The OnePlus 5 is said to have a massive 4,000 mAh battery and a whopping 8GB of RAM.
TheSamsung Galaxy S8 is powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor or Exynos 8895 with 4GB to 6GB RAM. The Galaxy S8 will feature a 5.8-inch display screen packed with an aspect ratio of 18.5: 9. The Galaxy S8 will also sport a 12MP rear camera and 8MP front camera. The device will have a 3,000 mAh battery capacity. Aside from being water and dust resistant, it is said to come with a rear fingerprint and iris scanner and an AI assistant.
The Galaxy S8 is set to be unveiled on March 29, while the Apple iPhone 8 will be launched sometime later in September with a couple of other products. The OnePlus 5 is likely to be announced later this year instead of the OnePlus 4.
