The rumor mill has revealed the leaked images and specifications of the alleged OnePlus 5. Is the release date drawing near?
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are the first smartphones to be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC. Leaked information has revealed that Samsung has been granted the initial stock of Snapdragon 835 chip, which means no other smartphone featuring it could launch before the unveil of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. Now that the Samsung's flagship phones have been officially announced, other smartphone OEMs are expected to soon unleash Snapdragon 835 driven phones, Playful Droid reported.
A Chinese source has revealed the leaked renders of the OnePlus 5. It has also revealed some of the leaked specs of the upcoming flagship from OnePlus. The leaked specs suggest that OnePlus would be arriving with a 5.5-inch display that would carry support for quad HD resolution. The leaked images suggest that the phone will be sporting ultra-thin bezels and the display will have a slight curve and it will offer a high screen-to-body ratio.
The SD 835 chip on the upcoming OnePlus flagship is rumored to be coupled with 8 GB of RAM. For shooting photos, it is speculated to arrive with a 23-megapixel rear snapper that is enabled with Optical Image Stabilization. However, the leaked images suggest that the phone would be sporting a dual rear camera arranged in a vertical manner along with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device is expected to include a 3,000 mAh battery that will support third-generation Dash charging.
OnePlus is still silent on its upcoming flagship. Just as the OnePlus 3 was announced in June last year, rumors are hinting that its successor would be unveiled by the end of second quarter. The Chinese firm is known for teasing the features of its flagship before its announcement. Since June is approaching fast, it is likely that the company would start releasing its teasers soon.
