The latest updates for "Overwatch" will feature a leaked DLC event, possible loot box changes and Reinhardt nerf fix.
Blizzard Entertainment announced several changes in "Overwatch" in the game's Anniversary event as the developers are considering making some improvements to the loot box system to make it more fair and rewarding for the players.
The Anniversary event has plenty of new content for players to unlock and collect through the loot box system with 100 new cosmetic items being added in "Overwatch," but some players have expressed frustration at how difficult it is to obtain all of the items. Players are simply tired of getting duplicates each time they finished a game mode or level up, often exchanging them for currency.
However, a reddit tread made headlines discussing "Overwatch's" loot box problem and as a result, Blizzard stated that they are indeed listening to the gaming fans and are planning ways to improve it withing the game. Game director Jeff Kaplan explained that their feedback and suggestions have become helpful and instrumental in making new changes and content in "Overwatch."
Some of the solutions suggested by players included removing the ability to obtain a duplicate of an event-exclusive item. Other suggestions include opting for the "Heroes of the Storm" system that allow for players to spend credits and reroll a reward.
Meanwhile, the "Overwatch" Anniversary event also brought an accidental nerf into Reinhardt.
Players noted that the latest patch for Reinhardt has reduced the effectiveness of this hammer, with hits now only registering after a full swing as opposed to having hits registered when the hammer was in the middle of the screen, meaning the time required to hit an opponent has doubled.
"Overwatch" lead software engineer Bill Warnecke was quick to reply on the problem and explainedt that the Reinhardt nerf was unintentional and the team will fix the problem soon, Gamerant reported.
Lastly, its seems that a new "Overwatch" event has been leaked online as two reddit users claim that they both found evidence on "Event 7" that is accompanied by "Golden Loot Boxes." There were also sound files that sound a lot like a Numbani-themed version of the loot box-opening theme.
One of the reddit users 30847192 was able to take a photo of the golden loot box and it is speculated that the Summer Games event will return to "Overwatch" this year.
Others suggest that the "Golden Loot Boxes" could be entirely different and more expensive than the normal loot boxes, giving a players a higher chance of gaining an epic or a legendary items, Dot eSports reported.
"Overwatch" is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
