Fans hoping to see more of Ellie and Joel will get their wish with game developer Naughty Dog's announcement of "The Last of Us Part 2."
Gamers who got hooked with "The Last of Us" definitely has not seen the last of the video game as evidenced by the release of a teaser trailer for its sequel. According to Tech Radar, Naughty Dog unveiled the trailer at last year's PlayStation Experience alongside with the official announcement that they will be making "The Last of Us Part 2."
But for gamers who can't wait to continue playing the hit title, it seems they need to muster more patience as the game is still in its early stages. In fact, the preview shown was for a non-gameplay sequence and only gave a glimpse of what the storyline could be. Luckily though, the trailer has given fans enough reason to be excited as unlike the first game, the lead role for "The Last of Us Part 2" will be Ellie instead of Joel. The latter will still be around but action will revolve more around a now 19-year old Ellie.
Confirming the lengthy wait for the game's release, Den of Geek reported that the sequel's creative director Neil Druckman posted on Playstation Blog that Naughty Dog is still ironing out details of the game and that there is no time table set for its release. Druckman also revealed that the making of "The Last of Us Part 2" was decided on the fact there is another story they wanted to tell their audience and fans.
