The latest updates for "Injustice 2" will feature a new ELEAGUE tournament this Fall and Sub-Zero gameplay trailer streamed online.
NetherRealm Studios streamed a new character trailer for "Injustice 2" at E3 2017, which featured "Mortal Kombat" fan-favorite Sub-Zero. Sub-Zero is the second DLC character after Jason Todd/Red Hood, and the second "MK" fighter to appear in the DC fighting game with Scorpion being the first in "Injustice: Gods Among Us."
As players will expect, Sub-Zero will use a variety of different ice-based attacks in "Injustice 2" and his fighting style mirrors that of his "Mortal Kombat X" counterpart albeit in less than lethal way than usual.
Game producer Ed Boon stated Sub-Zero inclusion to "Injustice 2's" roster is similar as to how Scorpion was introduced in the first game and wanted to know he fits into the story with the rest of the popular DC heroes and villains.like Superman, Batman, Captain Cold and more.
Sub-Zero's character design was created by legendary comic book artist Jim Lee. The gameplay trailer ends with the launch date of Sub-Zero which is set sometime in July, EventHubs reported. Sub-Zero is not the only "Mortal Kombat" character in "Injustice 2" as the resident Thunder God Raiden is also being teased in the game along with other rumored fighters like Azrael, the Enchantress, Watchmen member Rorschach, John Constantine and Spawn.
In other news, "Injustice 2" will have ELEAGUE tournament in the Fall this year on TBS and for online streamers.
The "Injustice 2" World Championship will feature a 16 player tournament with $250,000 prize money. TBS will air select matches on TV with full coverage of all games on digital platforms. The event starts with an open qualifier on Saturday, Oct. 21.
The DC fighting game sequel is the fourth game in ELEAGUE's roster, following "Counter-Strike," "Street Fighter 5" and "Overwatch." The latter had its television tournament debut on TBS via the network's esports league last September, Engadget reported.
"Injustice 2" is currently available for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
