Melodrama, the second album from the famous New Zealand based singer, Lorde has appeared online on torrent sites hours before its official launch.
Melodrama is scheduled for an official launch on the midnight of Friday (June 16 through Republic Records. However, the album has been already leaked on multiple torrent sites on Thursday (June 15), the News Hub reported. The second album from Lorde features 11 tracks. This album is the fruit of the hard work of the singer who had released her first album, Pure Heroine, four years ago.
The Melodrama album that is available on the torrent sites is an illegal copied version. In preparation for the launch of the album, exclusive album listening sessions were organized in Auckland and New York earlier in the week. Lorde revealed in a tweet that 50 people were present at the the New York's private event to exclusively hear the Melodrama album.
People are speculating on social sites that the illegal copy edition of the album might have surfaced through any of these private events. Lorde is said to have to put a lot of efforts to ensure that the album is not leaked. However, the album has somehow appeared on the torrent sites. People who are ardent fans of Lorde are suggesting others to not to download the Melodrama album illegally from the torrent sites.
There is no comment yet from Lorde on the issue even though she is an active user on Twitter. This could be because of the policy of the recording label that does not allow the singers to release any comment on such kind of leaks.
People have heard the tracks from Melodrama album have praised Lorde and songs of the new album as "heartbreaking but beautiful" and "glorious." The new album from Lorde is about a "grapple with loneliness," the New York Times reported. The album will officially launch on New Zealand Spotify today at midnight.
