Samsung Galaxy S7 vs Galaxy S7 Edge: What’s the difference?

Samsung announced its flagship Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in February and is expected to launch them starting March 11. Both phones have generated high specs. The specs of both phones are expected to be very similar, making it a tough call to choose one from the other.

Galaxy S7 Edge is a slightly bigger phone having a 5.5 inch screen, weighing 157 grams and measuring 150.9 x 72.6 x 7.7 millimeters, while the Galaxy S7 is smaller with a 5.1 inch screen, lighter at 152 grams and measures 142.4 x 69.6 x 7.9 millimeters. Both Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy Samsung S7 Edge offer a similar resolution of 560 x 1440 pixels and a Super AMOLED display.

According to Forbes, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are heavier and thicker than their predecessors but they are also narrower with rounded backs that shall allow easier handling. Forbes reported that a swipe at Galaxy S7 Edge screen will show more apps and widgets. Galaxy S7 Edge screen comes with greater third party app integration and double width widgets, which is apparently not available in Galaxy S7.

Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge comes with powerful batteries, as Galaxy S7 has a 3000 mAH battery while Galaxy S7 Edge has an even stronger 3600 mAH battery. However, it is yet to be confirmed whether Galaxy S7 Edge will trump Galaxy S7 in terms of its battery life performance.

Android Authority notes that one unique feature of the new Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is their new "Lens Cover." This new accessory allows users to purchase covers that come with specialized lenses. These are easily detachable lenses and are touted to be a treat for users who are keen on photography.

Numerous reports also mentioned that both phones are likely to run at 4 GB of RAM. They shall most likely offer 32GB or 64GB of internal storage with option to expand their memory through microSD card slots.
