Xiaomi Mi5 registered 16.8 million buyers on its launch!

The CEO and founder of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, in March 3 displayed the Xiaomi Mi phone at its launch in Beijing, China. The Mi5 has powerful features, supported by a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and is yet affordable, hence an economical smartphone.

As per reports in Gizmochina, just 5 days after its launch, 16.8 million people registered for the phone. So getting the phone on hand is not going to be easy. In a flash sale in China in March 1, 14.4 million people registered for Mi5, and due to high demand, the device is already sold out. With all these details, it proves that Mi5 has had a record-setting sale. The Mi5 handset is going to be released in India on March 31 and will cost US$305 (21,000rupees or RMB 1,999).

Design specs and features:

1.       It has a powerful processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 1.8GHz quad-core, 3GB RAM, internal storage of 32GB non-expandable.

2.       Has a primary back camera of 16mp and a front camera of 4-Ultrapixel for selfies.

3.       Its touchscreen is a 5.15-inch display, resolution 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels at a PPI of 428 pixels per inch. 

4.       The phone weighs 129.00gms, measures 144.50 x 69.20 x 7.25 (height x width x thickness), is Android 6.0 compatible with 3000mAh powered battery non-removable.

5.       It supports dual SIM (GSM and GSM), both Nano-SIM.

6.       For connectivity it takes up GPS, NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, FM (Band 40 supported, used by some Indian LTE networks). Wi-Fi standards supported are 802.11a/b/g/n/ac.

7.       There are Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Ambient light sensor and Proximity sensors on the phone.

8.       It comes with headphones of 3.5mm.

9.       For Android tablets and phones, it comes with MIUI skin.

The flash sale had only the Mi5, while the Mi5 Pro is yet to be offered.
