Leaked photos of Moto G (2016) indicate that it will be arriving with a fingerprint reader.
Rumors are rife that Motorola is working on a successor model for Moto G (Gen 3) from 2015. Chen Xudong, the Senior VP of Lenovo, had said at the start of this year that all the upcoming Moto branded phones will feature fingerprint readers. One of the leaked photos of the alleged Moto G (2016) suggests that it features a fingerprint scanner on the front panel.
Rumors are rife that the fourth generation Moto G will be launched as Moto G4 Plus. The reason behind it is that the popular tipster Evan Blass had recently tweeted a photo of Moto G4 Plus with a square-shaped Home button that may probable house a fingerprint scanner.
At the backside of the smartphone, it features a M (Moto) logo and a rear shooter that is enabled with a LED Flash. There are two unknown sensors positioned above the rear-facing camera. These sensors may probably belong to the laser autofocus system for the enhanced camera of the handset, GSM Arena reported.
The Moto G4 Plus sounds unusual as the company has used names like Moto G3 and Moto G2 for its predecessor phones. The Moto G4 Plus moniker suggests that Motorola may also launch a regular edition of the smartphone as Moto G4. The Plus edition may arrive with advanced specs such as larger display, improved camera with laser autofocus support and a fingerprint reader.
Motorola had announced the Moto G (Gen 3) and Moto X Style in July last year. Speculations are rife that since the rumor mill has started revealing details on 2016 versions of Moto X, Moto G and Moto E, all the three smartphones may get unveiled in July 2015.
Moto X (2016) is expected to house a 5-inch display on its metal unibody chassis. It is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 823 SoC. It is speculated to arrive with an enhanced rear-facing camera that will be coupled with a dual-tone LED flash.
The Moto E (2016) was recently spotted on GFXBench benchmarking site. It will be coming in two models, namely XT1700 and X17106. Both the phones are expected to arrive with common features such as 5-inch HD screen, MediaTek MT673 SoC and 2 GB of RAM. It is also expected to feature 16 GB of storage, 8 MP rear camera and 5 MP selfie camera, Phone Arena reported.
