Fresh rumors suggest that Motorola may introduce a laptop dock for its upcoming Moto X4 smartphone. The alleged flagship is expected to get announced on August 24.

In December 2015, a leaked photo of the metallic rear panel of Moto X4 (2016) had surfaced. It revealed that apart from metallic design, it would be arriving with an improved rear camera that will be enabled with dual-tone flash. The famous tipster, Evan Blass, has confirmed that the leaked image that surfaced at the end of last year is the real image of Moto X4.

According to well-known leakster, Steve Hemmerstoffer, the Motorola Moto X4 (2016) will be announced on August 24. The purported launch date is present on the screen of one of the leaked photos of Moto X4. Previously, leaked photos of unreleased smartphones have carried the launch date on the screen, Phone Arena reported.

Last year, Motorola had launched the Moto X Pure Edition 2015 (aka Moto X Gen 3) with a unique feature of front-facing LED flash for the selfie camera. Fresh rumors indicate that Motorola is working on a laptop dock for the Moto X4.

In 2011, Motorola had released a laptop dock accessory for Atrix 4G smartphone. However, it failed to impress the audience. It seems that the company will be again attempting to release a laptop dock for its forthcoming flagship smartphone.

One of the leaked images of Moto X4 shows that it features a 16-pin slot on its bottom side of its back panel. It appears like a dock connector. Rumors suggest that the 16-pin slot may support a dock charger. However, if the slot really belongs to a dock charger then it should be placed on the side of the device. Since the 16-pin slot is placed on the rear panel, it may carry support for laptop dock.

Moto X4 rumors indicate that the smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. It will be coming in two storage editions of 32 GB and 64 GB. The Moto X4 is speculated to come preloaded with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS.

Motorola is expected to launch Moto G (Gen 4) smartphone on May 17. Speculations indicate that the Moto X4 will be unleashed on August 24, Android Headlines reported. The company is also going to announce a Moto E (2016) smartphone soon.
