Facebook users on the iOS platform have complained that their old posts and photos are being re-posted on their timelines as if they were new. The problem was initially deemed as a hack, but Facebook has said that it was a result of a glitch on it's computer system.
The problem was first reported on Dec. 9. Thousands of Facebook users flocked to Twitter to voice concern regarding the issue. Users revealed that some of their photos and statuses dating back a couple of years ago were reposted as new, according to Digital Trends.

The glitch reportedly only affected Facebook on iOS users. No reports of the glitch were spotted on the Android and web platforms.
According to the Mirror, the glitch appeared a day after Facebook launched the new "Year in Review" feature which picks a handful of photographs shared in 2016 and compile it into a video presentation.
The glitch went beyond just the reposting old photos. Some users complained that aside from old photos being shared as new, some of his newer photos were deleted along with a random removal of some friends.
Some users claimed that their locations and friend tags dating at least a year ago have been reposted on their wall, and that some of their newer posts were also removed.
Tech analysts say that these glitches appear random and does not follow a certain trend. While some users dismissed this latest glitch as a sort of end-of-the-year prank, others are taking it seriously.
Facebook has suffered a handful of glitches this year. In November, some users were surprised to find out that the social networking platform inadvertently tagged them dead. Even Facebook founder and chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg was affected by this glitch.
Facebook is yet to release a statement regarding the glitch, or whether it is working on a fix.
