Last year, Blizzard Entertainment made a surprising announcement that it is bringing back the Necromancer class with some new DLC content for "Diablo III." The upcoming "Rise of the Necromancer" expansion content for the popular RPG title is expected to be released this year. As a treat for fans, the game's developers have provided more details and answered some questions about the upcoming expansion.

Members of the "Diablo III" development team reportedly communicated with fans through Facebook. However, the team from Blizzard Entertainment pre-emptively informed their fans that the "Rise of the Necromancer" release date and pricing would not be discussed. They claim "those things just aren't ready yet" and instead focused on other relevant information about the hack and slash RPG and the added Necromancer class, according to Game Rant.
The company reportedly based the latest DLC expansion and added class on "Diablo II." They also confirmed that the two classes from each game would not be connected in the game's lore. Some of the differences pointed out by the team states that the current one will not have "Iron Maiden" and poison skills. The new class will be able to wield non-class-specific equipment and feature new weapons.
The new class will reportedly have new two-handed scythes and even possibly take a melee-focused build. Golems are also making their way back into the game. The developers were only able to confirm the blood golem, which could mean that the other golem types might be brand new to the series. Players would be able to summon around four or five of these minions to take on enemy units.
"Diablo III" is also expected to feature new areas in the "Rise of the Necromancer" expansion. The Temple of the Firstborn and The Moors are some of the new places to explore in the upcoming DLC. Blizzard Entertainment has revealed that the expansion will include the Necromancer class, an in-game pet, a pennant, a portrait frame, and two character slots. The new content would require the "Reaper of Souls" expansion to work.
