The BlackBerry Aurora smartphone with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and a 4GB of RAM has been unveiled in Indonesia and is scheduled to go on sale on Wednesday, March 16.
BB Merah Putih is the company licensed to sell BlackBerry devices in Indonesia. It designed and manufactured the newly introduced BlackBerry Aurora, which is the first BlackBerry-branded device that supports dual SIM (micro SIM and dual standby) card. The device is unlikely to be sold in any other market but could be released globally via the Chinese mobile company TCL.

The BlackBerry Aurora has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, a pixel density of 267 pixels per inch, 16M colors, and a screen-to-body ratio of 71.4 percent. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm MSM8917 Snapdragon 425 chipset clocked at a speed of 1.4 GHz with Adreno 308 graphics processing unit.
The BlackBerry Aurora comes with 32GB of internal storage that can be further expanded up to a maximum of 256GB using a microSD card slot. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and autofocus. It can also record 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.
The BlackBerry Aurora carries an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Other camera features include panorama, geotagging, and face detection. Other sensors are compass, accelerometer, and proximity on board.
The BlackBerry Aurora supports connectivity options such as Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/A-GPS, hotspot, microUSB 2.0 port, and Wi-Fi Direct. It is packed with a 3000 mAh Lithium Ion battery. It measures 152 x 76.8 x 8.5 mm in dimension with a weight of 178 grams.
The BlackBerry Aurora will be available as a mid-range smartphone in gold, silver, and black color. If pre-ordered, it comes with a free official smart flip case and JBL Go speaker for the price tag of $260 (around IDR 3,499,000/£215/AU$345).
