Years have already passed since the announcement of "Kingdom Hearts 3" at E3. But while news on the release date and other gameplay details remain to be elusive, many are anticipating that all these will be revealed at this year's trade expo.
If this buzz is anything to by, a good news at E3 2017 will somehow please fans who received a disappointing news from Square Enix in late May. During a financial results briefing, company's CEO Yosuke Matsuda announced that "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" will arrive "in the next three years or so."
It now appears that the waiting will take up until 2020 or later for 'Kingdom Hearts 3". Many are hoping that Square Enix will shed more light on this and announce a more concrete release date to appease disgruntled fans.
Meanwhile, rumors on the new worlds that will be featured in "Kingdom Hearts 3" have also been making the rounds online. Fans were able to explore a myriad of Disney worlds all throughout the popular RPG series that include Hercules' Olympus Colosseum, Aladdin's Agrabah, Pirates of the Caribbean's Port Royal, and a lot more.
However, the third title gets more exciting for the fans as Disney has expanded its universe with the acquisition of huge film franchises such as Marvel and Lucasfilm. It means Square Enix can tap into new worlds to be featured in the game.
Earlier rumors had it that Star Wars might appear in KH 3, however, it may not seem plausible. Apparently, Electronic Arts already has acquired rights to publish "Star Wars: Battlefront" franchise that is based on Star Wars films.
But there are also talks that "Kingdom Hearts 3" might feature the massively popular Disney movie, "Frozen". Co-director Tai Yasue said before that he personally loved watching "Frozen" and that it has magical story, songs, and ice expressions.
Among those on the top list of fans' most wanted worlds including "Toy Story", "The Jungle Book", "Darkwing Duck", "Wall-E" and also Marvel. Yasue also said that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will feature a mix of new and original worlds for variety.
