Miitomo is a free-to-use social networking mobile app developed by Nintendo for iOS and Android devices.
Nintendo "Miitomo's" homeland of Japan saw its popularity rise to the top, exceeding popular messaging app Line with over a million downloads. Across the Atlantic, "Miitomo" had racked up over three million downloads since its launch.
Nintendo "Miitomo" players will need a Nintendo account where their profile details will be imported from an existing Mii from a Wii U or 3DS while utilizing a QR code. If not, users will be prompted to create a new one.

Mii's are Nintendo's equivalent to web avatars with the exception that Mii's were more than just a plain icon. They are animated simulations of users. In making a Mii, players can use the in-app camera to make a face, the foundation of how their Mii will look like, News Maritime reported.
After taking a Mii-selfie, players will get the option to change hair style and other facial features in terms of shape, color, and style. However, the app has also set focuse on more than just the looks. Also, Mii's voice can be tweaked in pitch, depth, energy, accent, and speed. Its personality style can also be modified with movements, expressions, attitudes and manners.
The next step after Mii creation will be to answer questions about your Mii. There are a set of questions that players will be required to answer completely. "Miitomo" was not designed as just a game as it is also geared towards social network users. "Miitomo's" major form of communication will be through open-ended questions, Eurogamer reported.
Nintendo "Miitomo" players will get to know other users through questions that need to be answered in complete and detailed sentences. The app's use of Q&A's between other Mii's offered good laughs between old and new friends. Mii's will usually ask users a set of questions ranging from what your favorite thing is to how users would like to spend their retirement.
Nintendo "Miitomo" was marketed as a mix between a game and a social network. It is the company's first attempt at the mobile gaming market, and had since then proven to be a hit. This is how the "Miitomo" app looks like:
