    Google, Ford, and Uber create giant lobbying coalition for self-driving cars

    Google, Ford, Volvo, Uber, and Lyft announced on April 26, Tuesday that they are joining forces to form a gargantuan lobbying group to put pressure on the United States government about autonomous vehicles (AVs). The tech, automaker, and ride-sharing companies formed the new Self-Driving Coalition for Safer Streets. Its main goal will be to support autonomous driving as federal regulars and lawmakers start dealing with the idea of driverless cars.

    Hover Camera: Small foldable drone uses AI to follow owner around

    A new drone called Hover Camera is a different type of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The small Wi-Fi-enabled drone with carbon-fiber casing folds up and follows its user around to take photos and video. Instead of using expensive cameras to take aerial shots like most UAVs the new hovering drone from Zero Zero Robotics tries to stay level and still after it is unfolded and let loose.

    Facebook is reportedly in the early stages of creating a stand-alone camera app that is similar to the Snapchat app. The new software is being developed by the social giant's "friends-sharing" team in London, England. A feature of the software would allow users to record video for live-streaming.

    Apple Watch birthday: Wrist wearable's first-year sales twice as high as original iPhone: Reports

    Apple Watch is celebrating the one year anniversary of the wrist wearable's launch on April 24, Sunday. It followed the original iPhone's introduction in 2007 and the iPad's debut in 2010, while some Wall Street analysts believe the device sold 12 million units in its first year on the market. That figure makes up 61 percent of worldwide smart watch sales and is twice as high as the 6 million iPhone handsets sold during its first year on the retail market.

    Apple Watch developers must exclusively build native apps starting June 1

    Apple announced recently that all Apple Watch apps submitted by developers to the App Store must be native apps starting on June 1, 2016. The Watch apps must be built with watchOS 2 software development kit (SDK) or a later version. Since watchOS 2 was launched Apple has supported native apps instead of relying on iPhone handsets to run Apple Watch. Smart watch apps built to run on Apple Watch allow the software to open faster and run smoother.

    Apple's iTunes Movies and iBooks Store have been banned by China's regulators as the country starts cracking down on foreign companies' online services. The move is just half a year after Apple rolled out digital downloads in China as it doubled-down on the launch of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. China is now the second biggest smartphone market in the world after the United States, and the world's biggest growth market.

    VW to buy back 500T defeat-device diesel cars, pay $1B to customers: Report

    Volkswagen will reportedly buy back almost $500,000 2.0L diesel vehicles equipped with defeat devices as part of a deal with the EPA. The German automaker will also set up a compensation fund of $1 billion to refund customers who bought Volkswagen and Audi diesel automobiles. However, it is not known the exact amount each VW customer would receive.
