A mysterious smartphone has made an appearance in two of Samsung's latest ads. The videos showcased the Korean company's new AMOLED technology displays. Both of the ads featured a smartphone that is believed to be the Samsung Galaxy S8 due to its unique design. The handset appears to match some of the speculations about the upcoming flagship unit.
According to CNET, the next Galaxy S model has been a popular topic across the internet. It is expected to be the company's opportunity to make up for the Note 7 debacle last year. Several renderings of the new smartphone appear similar to the unit seen in the ads. It also matches some of the supposedly leaked descriptions of the flagship smartphone, such as the minimal bezels and higher screen-to-body ratio, no home button and a built-in fingerprint senor integrated into its display.
Another Samsung Galaxy S8 leak has reportedly revealed the price and release date. Twitter user Ricciolo, who has supposedly released a number of leaks in the past, claims that the new flagship smartphone is ready for its debut at the Mobile World Congress next month. He added that the device would only be revealed to a few individuals, which are most likely from the press.
According to Phone Arena, Ricciolo said that the phone would be launched at a later date. He pointed out that the handset will be introduced during the MWC 2017 event, but will hit markets in the last week of April 2017. The handset's price was also leaked and supposedly starts at $849 for the base model and higher for the other variants.
